Facebook Is Deleting Users at the Behest of the US and Israel
December 31, 2017 at 7:40 am
Written by Glenn Greenwald
(INTERCEPT) — In September of last year, we noted that Facebook representatives were meeting with the Israeli government to determine which Facebook accounts of Palestinians should be deleted on the ground that they constituted “incitement.” The meetings — called for and presided over by one of the most extremist and authoritarian Israeli officials, pro-settlement Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked — came after Israel threatened Facebook that its failure to voluntarily comply with Israeli deletion orders would result in the enactment of laws requiring Facebook to do so, upon pain of being severely fined or even blocked in the country.
We’re revolutionizing the news industry, but we need your help! Click here to get started.
The predictable results of those meetings are now clear and well-documented. Ever since, Facebook has been on a censorship rampage against Palestinian activists who protest the decades-long, illegal Israeli occupation, all directed and determined by Israeli officials. Indeed, Israeli officials have been publicly boasting about how obedient Facebook is when it comes to Israeli censorship orders:
Shortly after news broke earlier this month of the agreement between the Israeli government and Facebook, Israeli Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked said Tel Aviv had submitted 158 requests to the social media giant over the previous four months asking it to remove content it deemed “incitement.” She said Facebook had granted 95 percent of the requests.
She’s right. The submission to Israeli dictates is hard to overstate: As the New York Times put it in December of last year, “Israeli security agencies monitor Facebook and send the company posts they consider incitement. Facebook has responded by removing most of them.”

Parerologi bicisnici

Un an mai apropiat de  cerintele noastre sa fie si fara spalare de varza la tv., sa-i prostim pe prosti.
Prostii duc tara inainte si ofera tuturor nemernicilor, trai Niniaca pe banii Babachii ! Sa auzim numai de bine in anul viitor!

Israel, Syria, Iran, and the US Are on a Collision Course at the Israeli Border
December 29, 2017 at 4:48 pm
Written by Darius Shahtahmasebi
(ANTIMEDIA) — It recently came to light that a secret deal regarding “the Iranian threat” was negotiated and signed by the Trump and Netanyahu governments. That deal pledges full cooperation with one another in targeting Iran. Shortly after, an underreported story also emerged: the Syrian army and its allied Iranian-backed militias advanced toward the border between Israel and Lebanon over the Christmas period.
We’re revolutionizing the news industry, but we need your help! Click here to get started.
According to Reuters, the Syrian Arab Army and the Iranian Shi’ite-led forces, helped by Druze militias, advanced east and south of the Sunni-rebel held bastion of Beit Jin. The report states that the fighters were backed by some of the “heaviest aerial bombing and artillery shelling” since a major assault began more than two months prior to take control of the area.
The enclave is important to Iran and its allies as it is the last stronghold of the Syrian opposition in the southwest of Damascus, known as Western Ghouta. According to Reuters, a western intelligence source confirmed rebel reports that Iranian-backed local militias, operating alongside Hezbollah, were the major players in the battles. This is a deal-breaker for Israel and Washington, which have made it clear they won’t tolerate an Iranian presence on the Israeli border.
According to Reuters’ intelligence source, Iran’s aim was to establish a “strategic presence” along the Israeli border in the Golan Heights. Perhaps that is why Israel said it would protect Druze villages in Syria – not necessarily because they care about the Druze population but because doing so would give them the pretext to intervene and counter Iran’s expanding influence.
“The Iranian-backed militias are trying to consolidate their sphere of influence all the way from southwest of Damascus to the Israeli border,” said Suhaib al Ruhail, an official from the Liwa al Furqan rebel group that operates in the area, according to Reuters.
Reuters also notes that this area has not seen Russian bombing, which only adds further uncertainty regarding much Russia will intervene should something more drastic take place between Iran and Israel. Russia is in Syria primarily to protect its interests, which does not particularly include having a permanent Iranian presence on Israel’s border.
The impending rebels’ defeat will likely entail that Hezbollah would have a secure arms supply line from its border in Southern Lebanon into Syria, Reuters acknowledges, something Israel is unlikely to allow without a fight.
What Israel and the U.S.’ recent agreement to target Iran will involve more directly is still unclear in light of the fact that Iranian-backed militias are days away from securing their stranglehold over the border with Israel. According to Al Arabiya, one of the joint U.S. and Israeli teams will “specialize in ballistic missiles and Iran’s attempts to provide Hezbollah with strategic weapons, which is what Israeli raids in Syria are currently targeting. They will also focus on preventing Iran from establishing missile factories in Syria and Lebanon.”

A third team will also “handle potential escalation scenarios in the region, in which Iran might intervene, specifically a new war arising with Hezbollah.”
U.S. and Israeli sources also allegedly said there was a detailed action plan to confront Iran.
Whatever the U.S. and Israel have in mind to combat Iran, clearly Iran and its allies on the ground are moving ahead undeterred. Whether or not America’s adversaries are simply calling Israel’s bluff or want something to materialize further on the ground remains to be seen. Either way, in Washington’s efforts to stifle Iran over the past few decades, it has almost always been the case that Iran has emerged as an even stronger power than before the U.S. took direct action to contain it.

European Union Building Its Own Army
December 28, 2017 at 3:40 pm
Written by Darius Shahtahmasebi
(ANTIMEDIA) — On November 13, 2017, 23 out of 28 European Union (EU) states signed a declaration to create what is expected to form the nucleus of a joint European army. The five countries that won’t be taking take part are Great Britain, Denmark, Ireland, Malta, and Portugal, though Ireland previously expressed some interest in joining.
We’re revolutionizing the news industry, but we need your help! Click here to get started.
The defense agreement is aimed at developing rapid reaction forces and implementing new material and equipment, including tanks and drones. It will include a five billion euro defense fund for buying weapons, as well as a special fund to finance operations and research.
Germany has almost all but spearheaded this project by itself. Just two years ago, the president of the European Commission, Jean-Claude Juncker, told the German newspaper Welt am Sonntag why Germany believes it is important to have a European army of its own.
“You would not create a European army to use it immediately,” Juncker stated. “But a common army among the Europeans would convey to Russia that we are serious about defending the values of the European Union.”
This might sound nonsensical considering NATO is currently surrounding Russia’s borders in an effort to contain Russia within an ambush of American troops and missiles. However, countries like Germany genuinely believe the U.S. can no longer protect Europe from Russia. NATO is essentially headed by the U.S., followed closely behind Great Britain, both of which cannot always act in favor of mainland Europe’s core interests given its geographical detachment (not to mention that Great Britain has opted to leave the E.U., making its influence over Europe’s military interests less apparent).
Under Donald Trump, the U.S. has formally lost the so-called global leadership role that both George W. Bush and Barack Obama had already started eroding. In May of this year, NATO officials had to Trump-proof the president’s visit, ensuring no one talked longer than four minutes to keep up with his limited attention span. In this context, Germany has openly said it can no longer rely on the United States and is reportedly seeking to take up the leadership reigns following America’s demise as a superpower.
NATO also has Turkey as a member, a country that does not always see eye to eye with Germany and has even expressed its willingness to join the Russian and Chinese-led Shanghai Bloc, instead.
Germany’s lack of a positive outlook towards NATO is significant. Germany is Europe’s largest economy. By 2020, it aims to spend 53 percent more on military equipment compared to 2016, according to a German Ministry of Defense estimate. However, though it pledged to increase the size of its armed forces to 200,000 earlier this year, it can’t realistically emerge as a superpower on its own in the face of the rising powers of Russia, China, India, and the rest of the European states. That is precisely why in February this year, Germany took matters into its own hands and announced the integration of its armed forces with Romania and the Czech Republic, baby-steps towards its very own European army.

According to Foreign Policy:
“Romania’s entire military won’t join the Bundeswehr, nor will the Czech armed forces become a mere German subdivision. But in the next several months each country will integrate one brigade into the German armed forces: Romania’s 81st Mechanized Brigade will join the Bundeswehr’s Rapid Response Forces Division, while the Czech 4th Rapid Deployment Brigade, which has served in Afghanistan and Kosovo and is considered the Czech Army’s spearhead force, will become part of the Germans’ 10th Armored Division. In doing so, they’ll follow in the footsteps of two Dutch brigades, one of which has already joined the Bundeswehr’s Rapid Response Forces Division and another that has been integrated into the Bundeswehr’s 1st Armored Division. According to Carlo Masala, a professor of international politics at the University of the Bundeswehr in Munich, ‘The German government is showing that it’s willing to proceed with European military integration’ — even if others on the continent aren’t yet.” [emphasis added]
Germany was not in a position to militarily emerge as a major superpower, but it had other ideas in mind as to how to combat that particular dilemma.
“The initiative came out of the weakness of the Bundeswehr,” said Justyna Gotkowska, a Northern Europe security analyst at Poland’s Center for Eastern Studies think tank, as quoted by Foreign Policy. “The Germans realized that the Bundeswehr needed to fill gaps in its land forces … in order to gain political and military influence within NATO.”
Foreign Policy also highlighted that Germany has to be careful as to how its neighbors, its rivals, and the rest of the world perceive a re-emerging German military given its infamous history in World War II.
Enter an E.U. army, one that would almost certainly be headed by Germany but that would encompass enough states to make it a much more formidable force (minus the negative publicity associated with Germany becoming a military power once again). Another glaring problem is that unelected E.U. officials would then be in a position to send Europe’s troops into combat as opposed to the so-called democratically elected institutions that allegedly have a mandate to decide whether or not to send its residents to die overseas.
One should also bear in mind that France, a keen backer of this project, retains a permanent seat at the U.N. Security Council, equipped with a veto power it could use on behalf of this E.U.-led bloc. Even without the U.S. and the U.K., the force would have significant sway and power to implement its will and protect its interests.
While the idea of a European army is still in its early stages, as the dynamics on the global chessboard begin to switch out of Washington’s favor, this is surely one of the more important developments to keep an eye on.

Nostradamus

Profeţii dezastruoase pentru anul 2018, conform vizionarului francez Nostradamus. Să le mai credem!? Pagina oficiala de Facebook a siteului: Universul by Lovendal Articol scris de: Lovendal |
Spiritualitate
* Colapsul economiei globale. Nostradamus a prevăzut că “oamenii bogați vor falimenta”.
* O mare erupţie a vulcanului Vezuviu.

Turkish President Says ‘Terrorist’ Assad Cannot Be Part of Syria Solution
December 27, 2017 at 10:14 am
Written by Middle East Eye
During visit to Tunisia to sign key agreements, Erdogan makes some of his harshest statements yet against Syrian president.
We’re revolutionizing the news industry, but we need your help! Click here to get started.
(MEE) — Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Wednesday called Syrian President Bashar al-Assad a terrorist and said it was impossible for Syrian peace efforts to continue with him.
Erdogan made his comments while in Tunis to sign key agreements along with 10 government ministers and more than 150 businessmen on the final leg of a tour that has also taken him to Chad and Sudan.
Syria’s foreign ministry quickly responded by accusing Erdogan of himself supporting terrorist groups fighting Assad in Syria’s civil war.
Early on in the war, Turkey demanded the removal of Assad from power and backed rebels fighting to overthrow him. But it has toned down its demands since it started working with Assad’s allies Russia and Iran for a political resolution.
“Assad is definitely a terrorist who has carried out state terrorism,” Erdogan told a televised news conference with his Tunisian counterpart Beji Caid Essebsi in Tunis.
“It is impossible to continue with Assad. How can we embrace the future with a Syrian president who has killed close to a million of his citizens?” he said, in some of his harshest comments for weeks.
Border Threat
Though Turkey has long demanded Assad’s removal, it is now more focused in Syria on the threat from Islamist militants and Kurdish fighters it considers allies of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), who it says have formed a “terror corridor” on its southern border.
